Dr. Govyadinov has a background in computer science focusing on research in segmentation, tissue analysis, and visualization of large-scale biomedical images. His work integrates segmentation and modeling of complex microvascular networks.
Pavel received his MS in Computer Science at the University of Oregon and his PhD at the University of Houston in Computer Science with Guoning Chen. He was a fellow in the NIH National Library of Medicine Bioinformatics Training Program under the joint supervision of Drs. David Mayerich (UH), Guoning Chen (UH), and Jordan Miller (Rice). His NIH-funded work is focusing on the characterization of microvasculature across whole organs to guide the generation of synthetic microvascular structures in engineered tissue samples.
